Cave Crickets

Cave crickets, camelback crickets, spider crickets, or sprickets as they’re most well known are Long Islander’s favorite pest. They’re known to inhabit cool, damp environments such as our basements, crawl spaces, and garages.

Some say they originated in Asia but they have found and fell in love with Long Island.

They hangout in bushes, under decks, and in storage around our homes and find their way in. They feed on vegetation, mold, hair, dust, and skin cells and can thrive in our homes.

While not inherently dangerous or damaging they can be quite scary and reproduce quickly. Being a common food source for rodents, they’ve also been known to attract them to your home.
